Thakadu River Camp sits on the banks of the Marico River in Madikwe Game Reserve - South Africa's fifth-largest game reserve and one of its most successful Big Five reintroduction programmes.
The camp is community-owned by the Balete ba Letsholathebe community, making every stay a direct contribution to local livelihoods and conservation.
Madikwe is malaria-free, making Thakadu ideal for families. The reserve hosts the Big Five, cheetah, wild dog, and over 350 bird species.
