All about Linkwasha

As the concessionaire of the private Linkwasha and Makalolo areas in south-eastern Hwange National Park, we have struck up solid partnerships with Zimbabwe’s Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZPWMA) and other conservation entities, as well as the local community in order to protect the wildlife and support the people in surrounding villages

Linkwasha is situated in a private concession in the best location in Hwange. It is found near the famed Ngamo Plains, where wildlife gathers in numbers during summer – to add to the year-round excellent viewing from the camp itself; Linkwasha overlooks a pan that is a magnet for game seeking to quench its thirst.

Hwange is Zimbabwe’s largest and most popular national park where our Makalolo and Linkwasha concessions offer some of the best game viewing in Africa. The Zambezi River’s exceptional variety of spectacular scenery is home to one of the world’s Natural Wonders, the Victoria Falls, while downriver, our concession lies in Mana Pools National Park, renowned for its superb wildlife viewing and vistas.

Hwange National Park covers some 1.4 million hectares and supports a mix of habitats. This diverse area is shared between desert-adapted and woodland species, ensuring large numbers of animals all year round – elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and even gemsbok.

Gratuities Guidelines

We would like to reiterate that tipping is not compulsory. Guests should not feel obliged to do so. Tipping should be undertaken only by choice, subject to the service received. In addition, guests may wish to add a nominal amount for incidentals, ranging between USD 15.00 to USD 30.00 per day (subject to personal budget choice) - i.e. if additional activities are booked once on their journey, if travel arrangements change for any reason, in acknowledgement of good service received in another area, etc.

Guide and Specialist Guide - We recommend about USD 10.00 per guest per day and may be tipped directly.

The General Safari Camp Staff - We recommend about USD 10.00 per guest per day for safari camps. This should be placed in the communal tipping box to be distributed equally amongst all the staff.

With regards to being hosted by Camp Management and/or Assistant Camp Management, tipping separately for said staff is purely optional and per guests’ discretion.
