One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls is considered one of the largest waterfalls in the world, the flow rate of the cascading waters of the Zambezi River more than double that of Niagara Falls. This is an area of spectacular scenic beauty: from the Falls themselves to the broad, picturesque course of the Zambezi River upstream. Wildlife abounds in the area, particularly during the dry season, and can be viewed while boating on the river or on game drives in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park upstream of the Falls. The principal town on the Zambezi’s Zambian bank is Livingstone, boasting a wealth of adrenaline activities and is known as the region’s adventure capital. The falls straddle the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, and both countries share Victoria Falls’ World Heritage Site status.
Thanks to our tree-planting project, this formerly degraded site has been rehabilitated to become a lush riverine woodland once more. We (guests included) continue to plant trees, even donating to renew other sites in Zambia. We also take pride in the community partnerships we have created here.
Overlooking the Zambezi River and some of its islands, Toka Leya is the ideal combination of relaxation and adventure. Game drives and river cruises can be followed by a therapeutic treatment at our spa; tours of Victoria Falls, a nearby rural village and Livingstone town add cultural and historical diversity. Fishing, rhino tracking and plenty of adrenaline-filled activities add excitement to the experience.

Toka Leya overlooks the mighty Zambezi River where hippo, crocodile and elephant are often seen, as well as an incredible diversity of birdlife. It is also centrally located in the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park which hosts species such as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and white rhino. The occasional predator is also seen. Several sought-after bird species are found, including African finfoot, half-collared kingfisher, African skimmer (seasonal), Schalow's turaco and rock pratincole (seasonal).
The camp’s expansive main area has gorgeous views of the majestic river and its wildlife, even from the rim-flow pool. Twelve tasteful safari-style tents each have an indulgent outdoor bath and a large wooden deck.
Children of 06 years and older are accommodated
Children between 06 and 16 years must share with an adult/s in the same room.
The minimum age for nature walks and rhino tracking activities is 13 years (subject to availability of a DNPW scout and qualified walking guide).
Laundry services are provided on a daily basis (weather permitting) and included on the FI rate basis. However, as the laundry is done by hand, the camps do not wash any ‘smalls’. Washing detergent is supplied in the tent or available on request, for you to wash your own underwear.
Please note that, per Zambian regulations, service charges are included in your stay with us and are paid out to the staff on a monthly basis. Therefore, please do not feel compelled to tip any of our service staff, however, should you feel an additional gratuity is warranted, our general guidelines are:
Guide and Specialist Guide - We recommend about USD 10.00 per guest per day and may be tipped directly.
The General Safari Camp Staff - We recommend about USD 10.00 per guest per day for safari camps. This should be placed in the communal tipping box to be distributed equally amongst all the staff.
With regards to being hosted by Camp Management and/or Assistant Camp Management, tipping separately for said staff is purely optional and per guests’ discretion.
