Classic camps are generally tented camps, although a few are lodges built from permanent structures. All these camps offer superb facilities and accommodation, the bedrooms being slightly smaller than those of our Premier camps. Many of the classic tents are raised off the ground with interconnecting walkways.

Kalahari Plains

Situated on an immense pan, Kalahari Plains lies in a remote corner of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, a place famed for vast herds of antelope followed by abundant predators – including legendary black-maned Kalahari lions and feisty honey badgers. It also offers some of the best summer wildlife viewing in Africa. Game drives unlock wildlife treasures while respectful San experiences provide insights into a unique culture.

Hyena Pan

Hyena Pan is in the Khwai Private Reserve, which borders Moremi Game Reserve, the Khwai River and Chobe National Park and is considered one of Botswana’s best game viewing areas. Elephant, buffalo, wild dog as well as lion and leopard are often seen, as are the many antelope and colourful birdlife of the reserve.

Sable Alley

Sable Alley is located in the 200,000 hectare Khwai Private Reserve concession, overlooking vast floodplains. Red lechwe, waterbuck and reedbuck along with many antelope species are full time residents, whilst sightings of lion, leopard, spotted hyena and wild dog are excellent. Elephants abound and very quickly become an all-time favourite.

Little Vumbura

Little Vumbura is situated on a wooded island and accessible only by boat, the epitome of island living in the midst of the Delta. Water-based activities are a focus, with mekoro and boats plying the channels. Wildlife viewing and birding is consistently good all year round via game drives through the savannah areas and walks around the islands.

Linyanti Tented Camp (East)

Set in the 125 000-hectare Linyanti Concession bordering Chobe National Park, Linyanti Tented Camp is the ideal base from which to explore this wildlife-rich area. Unrivalled in its remoteness and the sense of space that it affords, the concession is bordered by two iconic water courses – The Linyanti River to the north and the sporadic and unusual watercourse of the Savute Channel to the south.

Savuti Camp

Savuti is set on the productive Savute Channel – a refuge for a variety of wildlife and a fascinating natural phenomenon: When dry, it is a rich feeding ground and corridor between the mopane woodlands for both plains game and predators. When the waters flow, game congregates around it in numbers. Activities include day and night game drives, nature walks and boating (water levels permitting).

Meno a Kwena

Located on the western boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park (MPNP), Meno is situated on tribal land overlooking the exceptionally scenic Boteti River, which has been flowing since 2008. The camp is easily accessible from Maun - just a 90 minute drive.

Chitabe

Situated on a beautiful old tree-island in a prime wilderness locale in the south-east of the Okavango Delta, Chitabe Camp is built on raised decks to provide superb views across an expansive floodplain. Thanks to its Masaic of habitats, a plethora of plains game is seen on day and night drives as well as guided walks.

Chitabe Lediba

Chitabe Lediba is located on the same island as its sister camp, Chitabe. The main area and pool enjoy glorious views over the surrounding floodplains and small lediba (remnant lagoon waterhole), where a variety of game comes to drink during the day. The area, with outstanding wildlife, is explored on guided walks or day and night game drives.

Jacana

Situated on a small island in the scenic Jao Flats area of the concession, Jacana is a true water camp, where boating and mokoro excursions take advantage of the quiet channels and inundated floodplains and some of the fascinating creatures of the Delta – maybe even sitatunga – as well as the wealth of waterbirds can be seen. Day game drives take place all year round.

Kwetsani

Kwetsani, one of the most remote camps in the Okavango, is situated on an elongated island covered with palm, mangosteen and fig trees. Depending on the water levels, Kwetsani offers excellent land and water activities, viewing wildlife by mekoro or on game drives. During times of high water, Kwetsani boats to Hunda Island for game drives, complete with a picnic for a full-day excursion.

Little Tubu

Little Tubu is situated on Hunda Island, next to its sister camp, Tubu Tree, connected to it by boardwalks. Hunda Island, the largest dry land environment in this area, hosts a mix of diverse habitats, ensuring a varied game viewing experience. Activities include day and night game drives through productive mopane and acacia woodlands. During winter (May to late September), boating, seasonal fishing and mokoro trips are also offered.

Qorokwe

The name Qorokwe means “the place where the buffalo broke through the bush into the water" evoking the high-density game area in which this camp is situated. It owes its productivity to a mix of habitat types that lie between its western and eastern borders: the Santantadibe and Gomoti Channels respectively.

Seba Camp

Seba is set in a wildlife wonderland overlooking a perennial lagoon. Its riverine situation in a forest of majestic hardwood trees plays host to prolific birdlife, while on the Abu private reserve a variety of land and water game-viewing activities ensure that Seba delivers a classic Okavango Delta safari experience.

Tubu Tree

Tubu Tree lies on the western side of isolated Hunda Island, with easy access to diverse habitats and thus excellent game viewing. Activities include day and night game drives, and boating, seasonal fishing and mokoro trips during winter (generally May to late September).

Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp

Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is located in a 25 000 hectare (61 775 acre) exclusive wildlife concession on the edge of the Okavango Delta, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve.

Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp

Steeped in the aura of classical safari, the recently refurbished Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp boasts 12 Classic Tents and 20 Superior Tents and 8 Superior View Tents. While all the tents look out onto the open grasslands or the shady forest surrounding the Saparingo River, the superior view tents boast exceptionally beautiful, uninterrupted views of the Masai Mara.

Damaraland

Damaraland Camp is situated in the Huab River Valley in one of the best wilderness areas in Namibia, offering endless vistas across stark plains, ancient valleys and a stunning ochre-purple mountain backdrop. Activities include nature drives and walks while further afield, ancient rock art and geological wonders dot the area.

Desert Rhino Camp

In a wide valley sometimes flush with grass, Desert Rhino Camp lies in the midst of the enormous Palmwag Concession, where trackers patrol and protect one of the largest free-ranging populations of the Endangered desert-adapted rhino in Africa. Rhino tracking on foot and by vehicle with these dedicated men is an original and exclusive wilderness experience; others include exploring the area on fullday outings, nature drives and walks.

Hoanib Valley

Hoanib Valley Camp is in the Sesfontein Community Conservancy Area, Kaokoland, in the very remote northwest of Namibia. The camp sits on the bank of the Obias River, overlooking the Hoanib River Valley, a linear oasis running through one of the most beautiful deserts in Africa, where desert-adapted elephant, giraffe, lion and rhino move freely.

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp

In a remote area of the Kaokoveld, with gravel-strewn plains and dry riverbeds that draw fascinating wildlife, lies Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp. Explorations of this isolated yet diverse area take place via game drives along the riverbed’s narrow ribbon of vegetation, where a surprising wealth of desert-adapted animals can be found, while the research centre provides further insights. The desolate Skeleton Coast with its shipwrecks and noisy colonies of Cape fur seals is accessed either by a fascinating drive or flight, depending on the weather.

Shipwreck Lodge

Shipwreck Lodge is the only lodge inside the Skeleton Coast National Park, 45km north of Mowe Bay, on the mouth of the Hoarusib River. The area contains irreplaceable and vulnerable wildlife habitat for species of the highest conservation importance, including black rhino, elephant, black faced impala and the Hartmann’s mountain zebra.

Magashi

Perched on Magashi Peninsula, Magashi Camp looks out over scenic Lake Rwanyakazinga towards the Mutumba Mountains in the west. On the peninsula’s western side, waterbuck, impala and warthog can often be seen grazing, while on the eastern flank, eland frequent the lakeshore. The shore itself offers views of hippo, large crocodiles and a chance of elephant bulls, while the core of the Amahoro lion pride is encapsulated by this spit of land.

Phinda Zuka Lodge

Booked either for sole-use or on a room-by-room basis, the intimate Zuka Lodge is sheer, cool Comfort. Everything guests need is right within reach –comfortable library, sitting room with fireplace, swimming pool and four separate bush cottages. The garden lawn ends in a popular watering hole that entices many a four-legged visitor. Guests can choose to join the group in a generous sitting room or indulge in laid-back moments in the private sitting area of their cosy bush cottage. At the end of the day, an oversized bathtub awaits in the middle of a circular stone bath chamber.

Shumba

The vast Masaic of grassy seasonal floodplains extending to the horizon, mist rising at sunrise, epitomises the wild, remote Busanga Plains. Its diversity can be discovered on game drives as well as boating early in the season or hot air ballooning later on.

Little Ruckomechi

Mana Pools National Park lies in the heart of the Lower Zambezi Valley, where the Zambezi River meanders for 300 km on its way to the Mozambican border. It is a remote, wildlife-rich trove offering spectacular views of the river, floodplains, the tree canopy and the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment across the border in Zambia.

Ruckomechi

Ruckomechi Camp rises along the banks of the Zambezi River, gazing out towards Zambia’s evocative escarpment. Its broadcanopied ana trees create glorious shade throughout the camp, and are much loved by the elephants for their rich, nutritious seeds. Our concession is explored by vehicle or on foot, while boating and canoeing allow for a different perspective of the area.
