All about Kalahari Plains Camp

Set in the 125 000-hectare Linyanti Concession bordering Chobe National Park, Linyanti Tented Camp is the ideal base from which to explore this wildlife-rich area. Unrivalled in its remoteness and the sense of space that it affords, the concession is bordered by two iconic water courses – The Linyanti River to the north and the sporadic and unusual watercourse of the Savute Channel to the south.

The camp is in a diverse area which is an important elephant corridor. Wildlife includes the rare roan and sable antelope, while plains game are prevalent and of course their predators, including lion, hyaena, and leopard – with the endangered wild dog as an incredible bonus. Excellent birding.

Wildlife movements can be seen at the log-pile hide – especially in the dry season when large numbers of elephant move through the area. Situated next to one another, Linyanti Tented (East) and Linyanti Tented (West) can be sold as two separate camps or together as one larger camp. Although Linyanti Tented (East) and Linyanti Tented (West) are set up as two separate camps, Wilderness reserves the right to consolidate bookings in one or other camp due to numbers and if deemed appropriate. Unless sole use has been booked and charged for, East or West cannot be confirmed - only Linyanti Tented Camp

Gratuities Guidelines

We would like to reiterate that tipping is not compulsory. Guests should not feel obliged to do so. Tipping should be undertaken only by choice, subject to the service received. In addition, guests may wish to add a nominal amount for incidentals, ranging between USD 15.00 to USD 30.00 per day (subject to personal budget choice) - i.e. if additional activities are booked once on their journey, if travel arrangements change for any reason, in acknowledgement of good service received in another area, etc.

Guide and Specialist Guide - We recommend about USD 10.00 per guest per day and may be tipped directly.

The General Safari Camp Staff - We recommend about USD 10.00 per guest per day for safari camps. This should be placed in the communal tipping box to be distributed equally amongst all the staff.

With regards to being hosted by Camp Management and/or Assistant Camp Management, tipping separately for said staff is purely optional and per guests’ discretion.
