About the camp
Activities
    Year Round:
  • Cattlepost visit with lunch and village tour.
  • Baobab bushwalk with sundowners.
  • Explore Ntwetwe Pan by 4x4 and visit the cheeky meerkats.
  • Dry Season (Jun - Oct):
  • Quad bike to the Ntwetwe Pan and visit the meerkats. Overnight stay optional.
  • Green Season (Nov - Apr):
  • Experience the spectacular migration of zebra and wildebeest, the second largest migration of mammals on the continent!
  • Notes:
  • There are no private guides.
  • There is a max of 10 guests per vehicle.
  • Quad bikes are strictly 2 guests per bike – we don’t offer single bike use.
  • Single guests will either travel with the guide or on their own, depending on the allocation of bikes.
  • All activities are shared with other guests.

  1. Road Travel Two-wheel drive vehicle

    Planet Baobab is accessible by two-wheel drive; look out for the giant aardvark 200 kilometres from Maun and 100 kilometres from Nata. You can also fly from Maun to Gweta, and road transfers to the camp are available from both towns.

Accomodation

Our accommodation is cool, quirky and super comfy.

Number of huts
  • 8 twin Bakalanga Huts (sleeps 2) with ensuite bathrooms.
  • 7 twin Baobab Huts (sleeps 2), with ensuite bathrooms.
  • 3 family Bakalanga Huts (sleeps 4 in 1 double bed & 2 single beds) with ensuite bathroom.
  • Overland Campsite & Public Campsite - both with the funkiest ablutions in the Kalahari!
Facilities
  • At the heart of camp is an enormous bar area,
  • with wine-bottle chandeliers and cow-hide chairs.
  • Outside, the largest, coolest swimming pool in the Kalahari glitters tantalisingly,
  • as do the shady sun-loungers and braai areas.
Food Experience

Planet Baobab has an original a la carte restaurant and menu, and meals are comprised of interesting and delicious dishes from all across Africa. We are vegetarian-friendly!

We welcome all ages!

There is cell phone reception in the central area & Wifi & internet access is available for a small cost.

Electricity.

Safes are available in all rooms.

Swimming pool - strictly residents only.

Kitchen closes at 22h00 (last orders at 21h00).

Please consult your doctor for recommended vaccinations.

What is a good time to go?

Planet Baobab is open all year round. All activities are weather permitting and cannot be guaranteed.

Dry season: 01 June – 31 October

Green season: 01 November – 31 May
